hello all!
we're a small company and just started investigating user roles within zoom
We have a main OWNER zoom account, using a generic email, which is currently licenced.
we'd like to add 2 sub users - with their named zoom accounts, each with a business licence e.g.
OWNER - LICENCED
---sub user 01 - LICENSED
---sub user 02 - LICENSED
my question then, is do we need to keep the a licence for the main account, or can we switch it to basic? (no point paying for a license if its not needed!)
would the sub accounts have the same limitations as a basic account if we did?
or would they not be affected? e.g.
OWNER - BASIC
---sub user 01 - LICENSED
---sub user 02 - LICENSED
i hope that makes sense - thanks for your help!

Hi @moozqooz
No, sub users with licensed accounts will not be affected by the owner's account having a basic license in Zoom
You can definitely switch the owner account to Basic and save on that license cost.
Your sub users with their business licenses will not be impacted and can host meetings without the limitations of a free account
In your case it is going to be in this fashion - If you switch the owner account to Basic, it will only impact the owner's ability to host meetings.
They will be limited to the 40-minute meeting duration and other restrictions of a free account.
Sub user 01 and sub user 02, with their Business licenses, will be able to host meetings without any time limitations and enjoy other features like recording, larger meetings, etc., as offered by their Business licenses
Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
