iMac microphone stopped working

The built in microphone on my iMac stopped working in zoom. It works properly in all other video meeting software. There is no error, and it shows that it's working but the volume is extremely low and inaudible on the other end. I uninstalled zoom, and then reinstalled and that helped for a day, then stopped working again. I also made sure I had the apple silicon version of Zoom, which again worked for one day and then stopped. The only thing that has worked is to use my iPhone as the mic for zoom.

To be clear, there are no error codes, it's just that the volume from the built in mic is so low that it's inaudible.

I have the same problem! All was working perfectly until I updated Zoom.

MacOS: Sonoma 14.4.1.

Zoom: 6.1.0 (35886)

Same problem here, zoom and only zoom keeps lowering my mic, till nothing.

I sent the iMac to service, to replace the microphone, and reinstall OSX with a fresh install, and the problem persists.

Any ideas o fixes?
