I have tried to disable the virtual background on my apple laptop. The "none" button is highlighted but the background remains. I can blur the background, but I cannot remove it. I have the basic package. I have used the virtual agent and read all the instructions. None of them have solved this issue.

Hello @ModernDog,
Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.
If you're using macOS, it's possible that the background was uploaded directly to your computer instead of through Zoom. Once the meeting starts, a green video icon will appear in the top-right corner of your Mac's menu bar. Click the icon and uncheck 'Background' to remove the virtual background.
Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Hello, I have the same problem. Somehow I set up a pink virtual background when participating in someone else's zoom meeting last week, and no matter what I do to disable virtual backgrounds in my own zoom account online and through the desktop and mobile platforms, it will not go away, even while the video settings show "None" selected for virtual backgrounds. As for your suggestion, when I open a meeting that I'm hosting there is no green video icon on the top right menu of my MacBook. The only icon in the mac's top menu bar is a microphone icon. I'll screenshot what shows while my zoom meeting is running.

Hello @ecw33! You would need to turn on your camera during the meeting for the camera icon to appear.

My camera was turned on but still there was no video icon. However, when I went to the Zoom Workplace menu provided by my MacBook at the top of the screen, under Meeting I can select "Switch Camera." That gave me a green video icon. Once I clicked on that, I was able de-select the Background.

I got a replacement iPhone, after having a crack. Identical model – did a peer-to peer transfer for data. Zoom now logged on, on new device, but all saved backgrounds (jpegs which are all present in the new phone), and I had quite a few. have disappeared from the background choices. I’m still logged in on the same user name as was on the old device. How do I get them back in? What have others done in this situation? Thanks. .

Hi @Binos! Since virtual backgrounds are stored locally, changing devices will require you to upload them again on the new device.
