fluctuating levels

Hi. I took the time to adjust my settings with a colleague before our full work session began.

Everything seemed great. But when everyone joined the meeting, several participants said they could not hear me.

I'm using an Audio Technica AT 897 microphone using phantom power and feeding into a  Focusrite solo 3rd generation.

I ended up cranking the gain levels up to max and the output monitor to 9 on 10.

What can you tell me about this situation?
