Zoom backgrounds can't be turned off even when turned off. why is the background blue all the time? Is this a programming mistake? How do I turn off the background so I can see my background?

Hello there,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

If you're using macOS, it's possible that the background was uploaded directly to your computer instead of through Zoom. Once the meeting starts, a green video icon will appear in the top-right corner of your Mac's menu bar. Click the icon 'Background' to remove the virtual background.

Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

I am having the exact same problem. I have tried everything I can think of including completely removing zoom from my laptop and re-downloading it..twice and I am still having a blue background. Is this a system glitch?

Wonderful! That worked just fine for me. Now I can see other things in the room beside the blue haze.

Hello, I have a Windows computer and having the same problem with the blur background. I am unable to disable it.

Help please!

If you are on Windows 11 24H2, this could come from Windows Studio Effects, a new Windows feature.

This documentation should help in turning off or modifying any effects:
