I have a new laptop (Dell) and can not hear and be heard on Zoom. Help!

As an audio and broadcast engineer I can tell you that computer audio can be very complicated. Without the specific model number I can not make a specific response. In general you should always check your audio before joining a meeting if you are being held in the waiting room. After joining you can check audio by accessing the audio menu (click ^ next to the audio button) and click "test speaker and microphone" then follow the instructions.
