On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Zoom uses absurd amount of memory and CPU

I've been having this problem for months, but today I upgraded to version 6.2.3 (Linux, Ubuntu) and it got much worse. I was recording a Zoom meeting and I noticed lag when writing on the whiteboard. I opened `htop` and saw that Zoom was using the CPU at almost 100%, ALL the memory (that's 24 GB) and also all swap memory (2 GB). I was forced to kill Zoom and restart it. This makes Zoom practically unusable.

Hi

what version of ubuntu are you using 22.04 or the newest 24.04?

We are using 24.04 and had so far no issues regarding CPU and Ram.

Cheers!

Let's be realistic. Let's do the impossible!

I am using Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS (it is based in Ubuntu but with a different desktop manager, basically, and I used the deb installer). It does not always happen but I am not able to discern what might cause it. (Maybe when there's more people in the meeting?)
