Zoom request that I update my Chrome browse but my browser is Microsoft Edge (and it is up to date)

I am not using Chrome and when I join a meeting Zoom will not access my camera or allow my computer audio.  I can see what other attendees share on the screen, but I have to dial in using my phone.  Why is Zoom confused and thinks I am using an out of date Chrome browser?  And can anyone assist.  This issue began about 1 week ago.
