Subject: Persistent Screen Sharing Limitations on Ubuntu 22.04

Description:

I'm encountering ongoing issues with Zoom's screen sharing functionality on Ubuntu 22.04. Specifically, I am unable to switch between shared applications without stopping and restarting the share. This limitation persists across both Wayland and Xorg sessions. I am running Zoom Version: 6.4.3 (827)

Steps Taken:

  • Tested both the DEB and Flatpak versions of Zoom.

  • Switched between Wayland and Xorg sessions to assess compatibility.

  • Ensured all relevant dependencies are installed.

  • Explored alternative methods, such as joining meetings via the Zoom web client.

Despite these efforts, the issue remains unresolved.

Impact:

This limitation significantly hinders productivity, particularly during collaborative sessions where seamless transition between applications is essential.

Request:

I kindly request that Zoom's development team investigate this matter and consider enhancing the Linux client's compatibility with Ubuntu 22.04, ensuring full functionality of screen sharing features.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
