Zoom event w/registration enabled - inviting others

I regularly schedule meetings with registration enabled as my organisation collects registration data to analyse engagement. Up until a month ago or so, I was able to also invite co-facilitators and team members to the event (by email), without them having to register. Now it seems like the invite link directs them to register anyways. 

Is there a way to work around it?
