    Thanks, what does it mean?

    • Limit Background Processes

Limiting background processes means closing or stopping other programs and applications running on your computer while you are using Zoom. Many apps running at the same time can use up your computer’s RAM and slow down performance.

Here’s how you can do this:

    • Close any programs you don’t need (like web browsers, email clients, music players, or other chat apps).
    • Check your system tray (the icons near your clock) and right-click to close apps you aren’t using.
    • On Windows, you can open Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc), look at the “Processes” tab, and end tasks for programs you don’t need (be careful not to close system processes).
    • On Mac, open Activity Monitor (found in Applications > Utilities), and quit unnecessary apps.

By reducing the number of active programs, your computer can dedicate more RAM and processing power to Zoom, which can help it run more smoothly.

    Hello @ektrontek1,

To help reduce Zoom app RAM usage, you can try the following suggestions:

    1. Close Unused Features: If you’re not using video, disable your camera and close any unnecessary Zoom windows (like chat, participants, or whiteboard).
    2. Limit Background Processes: Close other applications running on your computer that may be using RAM.
    3. Update Zoom: Make sure you’re using the latest version of the Zoom app, as updates often include performance improvements.
    4. Use Zoom Web: If possible, try using Zoom through your web browser instead of the desktop app, as it may use less RAM.
    5. Lower App Settings: In Zoom settings, turn off hardware acceleration for video and screen sharing, and disable video filters or virtual backgrounds.
    6. Reduce Chat History: If you use Zoom Team Chat, clear old chat history or limit the number of open chat channels.

Let me know if you’d like step-by-step instructions for any of these tips, or if you have more questions!
