Zoom Crashes when I set microphone to my Headset Microphone.

Hello,

I have newly started to use zoom meetings, The problem I am facing is, if i set my headset microphone to use during video calls zoom crashes. If instead of Headset Microphone, I use laptop default microphone, it works normally and everything works fine.
If Headset Microphone is set I can not create new meeting, join a meeting or open Settings > Audio. I can go to every other settings page except Audio page. If I open a new meeting or join a meeting or open Settings > Audio page then a window appears and closes within a few seconds.
If the laptops default microphone is set, then everything works normally.
Now I have tested other media like Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger and google meet for both audio and video calling and there my headset microphone is working perfectly too.

In dire need of a solution.

I found a windows 7 version on the official site and installed it. The Windows 7 version worked fine on my windows 11 PC.

After the latest update I have the same issue. I cannot join meetings with audio either. Zoom seems to just crash. Uninstalled and reinstalled zoom and the issue still persists.  All other programs have no problem with my audio input or output.

Hello there,

I'm sorry for the late response and inconvenience.

Please perform a clean uninstall and then reinstall the latest version of the app. Additionally, ensure that your microphone driver is up to date.

Let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

None of the suggessted solutions fixed this issue.  I have uninstalled zoom, ran the cleanzoom program, uninstsalled and reinstsalled audio drivers and still this issue persists after the update.  Trying to join audio, the zoom meeting just silently crashes. When I go to audio settins in zoom, the settings window crashes silently. All other settings tabs work fine. No other programs have issues using the microphone/audio and zoom didn't either until the last update. I am forced to use zoom through the web as the desktop client is broken and cannot be used at this time.

There are several posts about this issue with the same crashes/closing windows after the latest update.

Any luck here? Dealing with the same issue.

Do you happen to be using Realtek audio drivers?

Similar issue, I can join meetings but no audio. When I try to open Audio Tab in settings, settings crash. I can access all other tabs.  This happens with a wired headset but not if I use a BT headset.  I have reinstalled and tried the 'solutions' but nothing.    Cptr has Realtek audio which seems to be a theme here.

I tried opening a ticket but as soon as I submitted it, it was closed.

Hello @ZARF,

I’m sorry that the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article did not work for you. Are you using a 3.5mm jack or a USB headset?

It is a 3.5mm jack.

Hey all! I just wanted to register that I had this exact same problem, newly to the last update. What fixed it for me was turning down the audio quality in my microphone settings (System>Sound>Properties><my corded headset microphone>). I changed the Format to: 2 channels, 16 bit, 96000 Hz; down a bunch of levels from the max setting I had defaulted to.
