Video Issue - My Image Goes Dark

Hello,

I am taking an online college program where classes are attended via Zoom.  Whenever I log in to a class, my video/webcam is initially fine.  However, should I turn off and then turn my camera back on (or if we are put into breakout rooms) the video returns with my figure darkened out, almost as if I am a silhouette (think the old Unsolved Mysteries TV show where the interview subject wishes to remain anonymous  😄).  I have yet to find the cause of this issue and would really appreciate any input.  Thanks very much.

You could try a clean removal/uninstall of Zoom Application and then reinstall it again. This is to ensure that any corrupted files/config on the application is all completely removed before reinstalling.

If you have a Mac - try uninstalling Zoom by using their uninstall file instead of putting the Application in the trash.
You can do this by going to Applications -> right clicking on zoom.us -> Show package contents -> open Contents -> open Frameworks -> use the ZoomUninstaller file.

After this, try to reinstall Zoom again.
