Urgent help: Can't join the meeting on mobile devices?

I scheduled a meeting. Why can't clients directly join via the meeting link I shared on their mobile devices? Do mobile users have to download the app to join the meeting?

Once upon a time, when Zoom's features were still somewhat basic compared to today, it was possible to join meetings from phones and tablets using browsers.  As the Zoom product has matured and increased security concerns have been addressed, the functionality of Zoom is extremely limited on mobile devices via a web browser.

See this analysis from Perplexity which points out is it somewhat possible on Android under specific conditions, but not so much with iPhone.

 

The app is free, and doesn't require the user to be logged in to a Zoom account for it to launch a meeting from a URL.
