Hi there,
I would really appreciate any help.
I am looking to upload (Zoom) videos from our organisation's meetings to YouTube.
I have tried uploading to a (specially created) YouTube channel, but the file format (M4A) is not supported.
I have tried converting the file to a YouTube friendly format: there are no issues with the audio, but I cannot receive any video.
Thank you so much to anyone who can help.

The issue is that M4A files are audio-only formats, which is why you're not getting any video when uploading to YouTube.
Check Your Zoom Recording Settings: In your Zoom account, go to Settings > Recording and make sure:
• Record video during screen sharing is enabled
• Video recording is turned on (not just audio)
• You're downloading the right file from your cloud recordings
After a meeting, Zoom typically generates multiple files. Look for:
• Shared screen with speaker view (MP4) - shows screen + speaker
• Speaker view (MP4) - shows just the speaker
• Gallery view (MP4) - shows all participants
The M4A file is just the audio track. You should also see MP4 video files in your Zoom cloud recordings. If You Only Have Audio, this usually means video wasn't recorded during the meeting.
Check if:
• The host had video recording enabled during the meeting
• Screen sharing was being recorded
• Participants had their cameras on
For Future Meetings, make sure to start cloud recording with video enabled, and verify that both audio and video are being captured during the session. Let me know if you're still only seeing M4A files in your cloud recordings, that would indicate a recording configuration issue.
EDIT: If you need help managing or sharing your recordings more efficiently, there are also some useful Zoom marketplace apps like this one: https://marketplace.zoom.us/apps/xTMHMumpSb6_oYpkkAyCaA that can streamline your workflow.
