Unlicensed participant times out - why?

My wife joins a yoga zoom meeting weekly.  The meetings are 1 hour, but her session times out after 20 - 40 minutes and she needs to reconnect to the ongoing meeting.  Neither me or her are licensed.  I understood that an unlicensed participant could connect to a licensed user's meeting without timing out.  The price of a pro license is pretty steep for once per week use.

The website is pretty opaque on things like this (heavy on the marketing and light on the information).

I would only like to add that I experience a similar situation:  I have a paid account but the video (only) quits for my guest after 40 minutes, and is replaced by some Zoom ads.
