Hi,
I am trying to import a registration list and when I click on the Import from CSV box, a dialog box opens but no file name has populated. As a result, there is nothing to save.

Hi,
Thanks for reaching out!
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing difficulties importing a CSV registration list. Here are some tips and best practices:
Common Issues and Solutions:
-
CSV File Format:
- Structure: Ensure your CSV file includes three columns: Email, First Name, and Last Name, in that order.
- Column Headers: Remove any headers; the file should contain only the registrants' data.
- File Type: Save the file in CSV (comma delimited) format.
-
Special Characters:
- Avoid using special characters (e.g., accents, hyphens, periods) in names, as they can cause import errors.
- If your data includes such characters, consider removing them or replacing them with standard English letters.
-
Encoding Issues:
- To prevent encoding problems, open your CSV file in a text editor (like Notepad), then save it with UTF-8 encoding.
- Reopen the file in your spreadsheet editor to ensure the data displays correctly, then save it again as a CSV.
-
Meeting Settings:
- Confirm that your meeting is not set as a recurring meeting and that it uses an automatically generated Meeting ID, as these settings are required for CSV imports.
-
Custom Registration Questions:
- If you've added mandatory custom questions to your registration form, imported registrants won't have responses for these fields, leading to incomplete registrations.
- To resolve this, temporarily remove mandatory custom questions before importing, or ensure that all required fields are included and correctly filled in the CSV file.
Importing the CSV File:
-
Accessing the Meeting:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Navigate to Meetings and select the meeting requiring registration.
-
Importing Registrants:
- Click on the Registration tab.
- Select Import from CSV.
- Choose your prepared CSV file.
- Optionally, check Send invitation after importing to notify registrants immediately.
- Click Import to proceed.
For detailed guidance, refer to this guide on importing meeting registrants by CSV upload. I hope this helps!

Friends,
I have followed all of the steps suggested. In the past I have never had any issues with importing a CSV Registration List. In fact, I have several accounts where there are meetings set up with registration. I am unable to import a registration list from three different accounts. One is a free Zoom account and two are paid accounts.
The issue is in the last step when I "Click Import to proceed" a dialog box pops open, but no file name is populated. I normally get a file name like "registration.... it will usually contain the date 03_02_25... Now, I get nothing. Others who utilize the account are able to create lists without any issues. So, the registrations are is certainly set up correctly. Any ideas.
Thanks,
YSL
