The centre stage setting is not visible

I am dealing with this same problem. New Macbook Pro. Updated version of Zoom. No button to turn off center stage. Everything I read directs me to an icon that is supposed to show up to the left of the screen when in a video. It simply is not there. I have searched through all settings. Nothing. Very frustrating.

I am so beyond frustrated with this. Apple blames Zoom and Zoom blames Apple. Finally chatted with a tier 2 Zoom support today who acknowledges this is a problem. They were sending me an email to respond to with some reports off of my Mac. It's been hours and I have not seen an email, so there goes that! Let me know if you figure this out. Thanks. 

I figured this out on my own! When you are on your computer in a Zoom meeting, the setting is on the Apple task bar on the TOP RIGHT, not left like Zoom and Google say. It's the green video camera looking icon. I took screenshots but it does not appear that I can add them here. Once you click that green video camera icon, you can click the center stage to turn it off! 10 days of frustration for that. Apple didn't even know this and neither did Zoom support.
