Tasks keeps popping up with a red dot even though there are no tasks. Please fix

The tasks icon keeps showing a red dot like I've got something to do there. I click tasks and nothing is there. The dot goes away for a bit but comes back every time I'm in the app.

It's really annoying to pretend like there's a notification when there isn't. There also does not seem to be a way to turn this annoyance off.

Please fix it

This is version 6.6.5.34303 on Android 14, Pixel 5.

Thank you for reporting this. Please try the following steps to help resolve the issue:

1. Open the Tasks tab and switch between task lists (Recommended, My Tasks,  All Tasks, Starred, and Lists) to see if a hidden task is triggering the red dot.

2. Check if any archived or completed tasks are still marked as new.

3. On your Android device, go to Settings > Apps > Zoom > Storage and tap Clear Cache.

4. If you’re comfortable, tap Clear Data as well (you’ll need to sign in again afterward).

5. Relaunch the Zoom app and check if the red dot clears and stays cleared.

6. If the issue continues, sign out of Zoom and sign back in to refresh your task sync.

7. As a final step, uninstall and reinstall the Zoom app to reset any lingering state issues.

If the red dot continues to appear after completing these steps, please let us know.

I tried all those. Like I said, I have no tasks. I checked every single option and set it to "all" tasks. No tasks are anywhere. The red dot still shows up and it has no reason to. It's very annoying

I have just updated to 6.6.6 (19875) on windows 11 and tried the following steps:

1. i clear the red dot on the tasks tab

2. i log out of zoom

3. i log back into zoom, the red dot has reappeared

other context: i have never used the tasks tab for anything and it is completely empty - there are no tasks and there is nothing in any of the various sections within the tasks tab at all.

the desired outcome is for there to be no red dot on the tasks tab. please provide a solution.

Same here on iOS.

Very annoying, a notification flag shows on the app icon, then on the task icon on the zoom bar… but there’s no notification 🙂

Please fix it, I really don’t want to be driven to ignore zoom notifications.
