At the start of February I was forced to do an upgrade and now when no one can hear me, although I can hear them. Zoom has worked perfectly for me for years and now this forced upgrade has broken it. I am now on desktop Zoom for Linux (Debian) version 6.3.10. When I go into Zoom audio settings I can select the microphone and when I speak I can see the blue bar move. However, there is no "Test mic" button to do a recording. So, obviously Zoom is picking up my microphone but not sending it on to others or not doing so properly. Also, the microphone works perfectly in other applications. For instance, I can record and playback from a terminal or using VLC.

That was one of the first things I did. In fact if you read my post you will see that I wasn't able to do the record test in Zoom because there was no "Test mic" button. However, when I speak the blue bar moves to show that Zoom is picking up the sound in the microphone and, in other applications, recording with the microphone works. So, yes, I need further assistance (otherwise I wouldn't have created the post in the first place).

Exactly the same issue here (with Ubuntu 24.10). Versions 5.17.x were working fine, but it's broken since anything 6.x.
I am assuming it's because of using ALSA only for audio on my system (i.e. no pulseaudio and no pipewire or similar).
