See Who Left the Meeting

As a teacher, it would be really helpful if it listed in the chat who specifically left the meeting. Often, I hear the notification, but I have too many students to know who left without downloading a report at the end of the session. It would be helpful if I could see "[participant name] left the meeting" in real-time.

If you connect an iPad to the meeting and go to settings > general  > Show name when participant joins and turn it on the name of who just joined or who just left will momentarily appear at the top of the Zoom window. Its not a permanent record, but does tell you who just left the meeting.
