Safe driving tap to speak not unmuting

I constantly use the safe driving screen in meetings.  Yesterday it was working fine, but today it stopped allowing me to unmute when I tap the Tap to Speak circle.  The app was not updated recently (since 2/28), the settings in the phone or Zoom were not changed.  I can unmute using the standard meeting screen.  I followed all the troubleshooting advice - changing app settings, phone permissions, force stopped the app, reinstalled the app.  Nothing seems to have helped.  All the settings are as suggested.  No error messages.

Phone - Samsung Galaxy S23

Zoom app version - 6.3.11.28195

I have the same issue on Moto G stylus 5g.

Worked in one session and minutes later, not the next.

Thought it was my phone but it's happening on my Galaxy S20 and now my S25.

I have the same issue on a Moto Razr -- but be careful. I learned today that the mute / unmute button is working, but the display is not updating to show its current state. So you might be unmuted and not know it...

I can verify this is the case.  I wasn't sure but I tested it with a colleague today and it definitely unmutes but doesn't change the screen.  Thanks for this tip!!

Having the same issue! I used this feature all the time but it appears to be broken now. I cleared the app data, cleared the cache, and reinstalled the app and nothing fixes it.

Pixel 6a, same problem.  Safe driving mode, tap to speak button doesn't change, but it DOES unmute.  Can't seem to mute tapping again.  Have to slide to the other screen and back to re-mute.    Also call this morning, volume was really low and couldn't get it to come up.  But testing now that part seems OK.   Also restarted phone, reinstalled Zoom and still this way.

It has been 5 days since this message, and the 6.4.0 version is still not available on the Play Store. It does show as available in the zoom app, but the link it provides goes to the play store 6.3.11.28195 version.

Mine just updated to 6.4.1.28653.  The original issue has been fixed.  I checked in the play store and it's showing v6.3.11.  Might just be a matter of time.

Glad to hear a fix is in the pipeline!  Like Ash10, I can't seem to get 6.4 yet either.  I look at versions in settings and it says I'm 6.3.11 and 6.4 update is available, but "continue" just dumps me into the Play Store where I can uninstall or open.   Uninstall and Reinstall is still 6.3.11.   I guess I'll wait a day or so and check again.

I was somewhat "off grid" for the last week or so, but today found mine has updated to 6.4.1 and is working again.  Thanks for the fix!
