Removing black boxes in Zoom during screen sharing

I have encountered about 2 black boxes appearing in my presentation during screen sharing since Jan 2022. One blackbox appeared near the top and the other at the bottom. My laptop uses Windows 10 and I have updated the latest software. I have done all the hacks recommended in the Zoom web page, including changing the NVIDIA settings, video settings and screen sharing settings. Yet, I still have the same problem with the black boxes. Please help to resolve this problem. Thank you!

Hi, just responding to this to help future people who come to this page. Un-checking the optimize video button didn't work for me, but changing the screen capture mode setting did! Here's what I did:

    1. Open Zoom meeting settings
    2. Go to "Share Screen"
    3. Click on "Advanced"
    4. Find the "Screen capture mode" settings
    5. Select "Secure share with window filtering"

Hi @sumitra ! I know it has been a while since you initially posted, but I want to make sure you receive assistance. Are you still having this issue? If so, does this issue occur when using a different device, or is it just on the current device running Windows 10?

This symptom continues on Windows 11.  Disabling "Optimize for Video" is unacceptable as this is necessary to properly view transitions and animations

Thank you soooo much! I have been working on this for over a week. I tried everything and even bought a new laptop and yet this is the fix!! I am so grateful.

Hello, I also have a black box problem, which none of my coworkers have in their screensharing meetings. I tried the below option, but I don't have that option in my version of Zoom.

    1. Open Zoom meeting settings
    2. Go to "Share Screen"
    3. Click on "Advanced"
    4. Find the "Screen capture mode" settings
    5. Select "Secure share with window filtering"

My optimize video button is off. I also need my controls visible during the meeting, so I can't hide them.
