PRESENTATION TO AN AUDIENCE

I want to make a powerpoint  presentation to a live audience and to people logging in via zoom and want to avoid some distractions

1  I don't want to hear or know when people are logging in as they may be logging in after the presentation has started and don't the want distraction

2.   I want the zoom participants to see the powerpoint slides and a small picture of the presenter and to hear the presentation but I don't want to see the zoom participants nor do I want to hear them

There are possibly 2 different solutions to this problem. 

1.  You can use Zoom Webinar which is specifically built for this type of scenario.  More information can be found on this page about it:  Zoom Webinar | Zoom

2.  You could use Zoom Meetings and set the following settings:

• Disable the sound notification when someone joins or leaves the meeting:  Enabling sound notifications for meetings – Zoom Support
• Spotlight your own video for participants which will then only show yourself as the active speaker:  Spotlighting participants' videos – Zoom Support (keep in mind that the participants can still take themself out of this view individually on their own devices - this is where Zoom Webinar is different)
• When sharing, you can on you own computer, set the video block to either only show yourself or you can even hide the video in total.  Sharing Your Screen While Seeing All Meeting Participants – Zoom Support
• You can also mute participants on entry: Muting all participants when they join a meeting – Zoom Support
• Disable participants from unmuting themselves.  Managing participants in a meeting – Zoom Support
