Otter AI Hosted a Recorded Meeting

Hello there. I was just in a recorded zoom meeting where someone's Otter.AI was accidentally made the host before the meeting ended. I'm wondering where that recorded meeting would be?

Hi Twood,

Hi! Great question. Here’s what likely happened and where you can check for the recording:

Zoom cloud recordings are always saved to the original host's Zoom account, unless:

  1. Another user was made host before the recording started, and then the new host’s account held the recording.

  2. The original host left and another user was assigned as host while recording. The recording still stays with the original host unless the new host manually stopped and restarted the recording.

If Otter.ai  was made the host after the recording had already started:

     1.  The recording likely still lives in the original host's Zoom account.

    2. Otter.ai being host temporarily would not transfer ownership of the recording, unless it explicitly stopped and restarted it.

    3.  If not found, check if:

           A. The recording was saved locally (if the host was recording to their device).

           B. Otter.ai has cloud recording capabilities linked to a user account (rare, but possible with API integrations)

I hope this helps!
