Original Sound on iPad

Effective with the update on 11/11/24, for iPad IOS, the original sound option is no longer available in the More menu when in a meeting. However, one can exit the Meeting, go to settings/audio and turn on original sound. Then, it will display in the More menu in a meeting.

I can't seem to get this to work on my iPad.
i've seen other posts that say that there is a down arrow by the sound... but I don't have that on my iPad.
The instructions above say to exit the meeting and go into settings/audio and turn on original sound... i've tried ALL of those sounds but when i go back into the meeting, i still get the academy awards.... which is super inappropriate for a grief counselling group... IJS...
Any help is gratefully appreciated!!

I found that Use Original Sound option has vanished from the Meetings Menu even when not in a meeting. It has now moved to the Audio menu under the Meetings Menu in more/... Settings when not in a meeting. You can select  an audio profile of Auto Noise Supression or Original Sound in that menu.

After upgrading to 6.4.3 on our iPad, the "AUDIO" section of "Meeting settings" (reachable via "More"/dots when not in a meeting) now has only these two choices:

  • Auto connect audio
  • Mute my microphone

That (and losing the "default" setting of Original Sound being "ON" that we had for a long time) had us thinking the option had been removed.

However, going back to just the More screen — which shows ADDED FEATURESSETTINGS, and OTHER sections, there's an Audio option under SETTINGS (this is not under Meetings!!) that offers these choices:

  • Ringtones
  • AUDIO PROFILE
    • Auto noise suppression
    • Original sound
    • Personalized audio isolation

It looks like turning Original sound to ON will get this working again, insofar as — when in an actual Meeting — the Enable original sound choice is once again offered (just above Meeting settings) in the control strip at the bottom (via More/... on our screen in portrait mode).

Hope this helps, and I hope it works on our church's iPad when I try it tomorrow morning for our Easter service — else callers will not have a great music-listening experience, though I presume the readings and announcements would still sound good.
