No audio sound in Zoom. Windows 11 on ASUS laptop. Realtek driver.

I just started using my new ASUS computer which runs of Windows 11 and uses Realtek audio driver. I get no audio sound in Zoom. No other application has this problem. I did not have this problem on my old ASUS computer running on Windows 10, and also using Realtek audio driver. I have gone through all the troubleshooting procedures suggested by ASUS Support and also by Zoom. None of that helped to fix the problem.  Has anyone else encountered this? And have you been able to fix the problem?

You try this to solve the issue

  • Update Zoom: Make sure you’re on the latest version that’s fully compatible with Windows 11.

  • Check permissions: Go to Windows Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone/Camera and confirm that Zoom has the right access.

  • Realtek Audio Console: Open the Realtek Audio Console and review any Windows 11–specific settings.

  • Windows Audio Troubleshooter: Run the built-in audio troubleshooter while Zoom is running.

  • Zoom Audio Settings: In Zoom, head to Settings > Audio and test different speaker/microphone options.

If none of these steps fix the issue, it may be related to a compatibility problem between Zoom and the Realtek drivers on newer ASUS models.

In that case, the best next step would be to contact Zoom’s technical support team with your laptop details so they can give you a more tailored solution.

Thanks junO for helping me out on this. I followed all the steps you suggested. Unfortunately this did not lead to a resolution of the problem.

 

Realtek Audio Console was preinstalled on my system running Windows 11.

When I run the Realtek Audio Console, it shows under Speakers:

Main On
sample rate and bit depth: 48000Hz 24 bits
Speaker configuration: Stereo
Left and right speaker icons:
when I click on either one of these, I can hear the sounds.

When I run the Realtek Audio Console, it shows under Microphone Array:


360-degree recording mode is checked.
Under “Disable Microphone Effect”:
Authentic Recording button dot is set to the left.
sample rate and bit depth: 48000Hz 16 bits

When I run the Realtek Audio Console, it shows under Stereo Mix:
Main volume slider is set to the maximum volume.
sample rate and bit depth: 48000 Hz 16 bits

I followed all the other steps you suggested, but they did not solve the problem.

I think you are right that there is probably a compatibility problem between Zoom and the Realtek drivers on newer ASUS models.

 



Is there any that I could install older Realtek audio drivers on my system to see if that would fix the problem?     ASUS Support wants me to do a factory reset on my PC to help me further. I hoping that I can avoid having to do that, so any assistance I can get prior to succumbing to that process would be most welcome.

The problem is solved, although it cost me about $30 to fix it. Kevin from Zoom Support made some suggestions that I try, all very reasonable, but none of which worked. This included, of course, a recommendation to use Device Manager to install the latest audio drivers on my system. But when I tried doing that, this Microsoft program told me that I was already using the latest drivers! That, of course, was nonsense, so this route didn’t work. But Kevin did give me a link to the Driver Easy site. I paid to become a user of Driver Easy Pro, and using that I was finally able to download and install the latest audio drivers for my system. And that solved the problem.
