To troubleshoot a non-working camera on your Dell 14 Pro Plus, first, ensure apps have permission to access the camera and that the camera isn't disabled in Windows Settings or BIOS/UEFI. Next, try reinstalling the camera driver by uninstalling it from Device Manager and restarting your computer. You can also run Dell SupportAssist diagnostics for further assistance or to find new drivers.
1. Check Privacy Settings & App Permissions
Open Settings by pressing the Windows key + I.
Navigate to Privacy & Security.
Scroll down to App permissions and select Camera.
Ensure "Let apps access your camera" is turned on.
Also, check that specific apps (like Zoom or Teams) are allowed to access the camera.
2. Check Device Manager for Disabled Camera
Press the Windows key + Q to open the search bar.
Type "Device Manager" and select it from the results.
Look for the "Cameras" or "Imaging Devices" section.
If your camera is listed with a downward-pointing arrow, right-click it and select "Enable device".
3. Reinstall the Camera Driver
In Device Manager, find your camera under the "Cameras" or "Imaging Devices" section.
Right-click the camera and select "Uninstall device".
Confirm the uninstallation.
Restart your laptop; Windows will automatically try to reinstall the driver.
4. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings
Restart your computer and press the F2 key repeatedly at the Dell logo to enter the BIOS setup.
Look for a section like "Integrated Devices".
Ensure that the "Enable Camera" option is ticked.
Save your changes and exit the BIOS.
5. Run Dell SupportAssist Diagnostics
Search for SupportAssist in the Windows search bar and open it.
Navigate to the Troubleshooting tab.
Select "Camera Devices" to run a diagnostic scan.
If an issue is detected, follow the prompts to fix it or contact Dell support.
6. Update or Install Specific Drivers
Visit the Dell support website, enter your laptop's service tag, and download the latest drivers for your specific model.
Look for drivers related to the Intel 2D Imaging, MCU, and Visual Sensing Controller and install them.
