I am a music teacher and I teach a lot over Zoom. The new update is awful. I cannot hear my students play the guitar. I have even turned the original sound for musicians on and it still doesn't work. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes. I changed the audio settings. “Original sound for Musicians” wouldn’t work, so I changed the setting to “zoom optimized audio” & I used the “Low” setting. It worked for a piano lesson. I still have to try this setting with a group in the same room on the other end of zoom.

have you tried this with the group? Do you still recommend this?

I’m just not seeing the same settings I must not be in the right place. I went to audio then audio profile and I’m seeing the things that say original sound for musicians live performance, but I’m seeing people say to adjust something to low and I don’t see the word low anywhere can you help please? I must be just slow🥴

Make sure your students use the same setting on their devices. The noise filtering happens at the source microphone.

I've also struggled immensely with hearing my students since the update, despite spending time troubleshooting audio options with them. I've even needed to reschedule some lessons. I'm relieved to have found the solution in the replies to this post.
