Meeting set for no host but it still requires a host

I have been using Zoom for a year to set up meetings were I do not need to attend. I have the settings set up to not need a host . And when I set up a meeting the host required section is not selected. BUT , it is not working. It requires the host to be there to let people into the meeting when all my settings say not to do that. Does anyone know why you can’t talk to anyone at zoom?
