Due to pandemic Zoom Meeting platform is widely used all over the world. 40 minutes is enough for short discussion. But if is is 1 hour then it can be more appealing. Where other platform like Google Meet provides 1 hour free secession.

Other platforms for longer free meetings may well be more appropriate for your use - but they may offer less in other ways.

Zoom does provide a rich feature set - which does come with some limitations at a free tier.

But at a Paid level, I think Zoom provides great value for money - even over the competition, in my opinion.

I agree with @Rupert . I believe the paid version has some great features. If you're only relegated to the free version, you may just have to keep the 40-minute meeting to only the most pertinent topics to keep it as succinct as possible within the timeframe.
