Live musicians not being livestreamed on Zoom

I have being using Zoom to livestream events at the Birthplace of the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. While video and speech is OK I have been unable to get any usable sound from musicians. The latest were a saxophone, electronic piano and guitar which were either inaudible or very very lumpy. Audience clapping also cuts out. I can send a short clip if needed.

The following is what I have been using - any help would keep me sane!

Tongveo PTZ camera

Blue Yeti microphone

Asus Vivobook laptop Windows 11

OBS Studio 30.0.2 Sample rate 48kHz

VB – Audio Virtual Cable

Zoom

Original Sound for Musicians ON

            High Fidelity Music Mode ON

            Echo Cancellation ON

Automatically adjust mic volume ON

Advanced

Signal processing by Windows audio device drivers OFF

Echo Cancellation AUTO

I don't have any fancy microphones attached - tried with logitech - and when speaking the audio works. however, when playing an instrument - it is faint and choppy. I tried two computers and a variety of settings. any ideas?

Original sound for musicians is a 2 step process to turn it on. The first is in the audio settings which you did, but you need to turn OFF echo cancellation in both places. Also, turn off automatic mic volume and manually set the volume to max. Second, in the upper right are of the Zoom client window you need to turn on Original Sound for Musicians every-time you start a meeting and every-time you change a mic input selection.
