I am running Zoom on Windows 10 and latest Firefox.
I tried to install the latest version of Zoom Workplace and at the end of the process it gave me some error that it could not access MS Edge and to check my Internet connection.
I do not have MS Edge. Does this mean that without it I cannot install Zoom?

Microsoft edge is part of the windows 10 operating system. You can not uninstall it. And no Zoom does not require MS Edge. Without details of what you actually did I can only guess. Sounds like you lost internet during installation, which could be just momentary. Did you actually install Zoom? Does Zoom open?
If this works please click accept as a solution.

Thanks for responding.
I am running an older version of Win10 that precedes MS Edge and it's intentional. I want nothing to do with MS updates, spying and Edge. I am using Firefox.
I tried to install it three times and each time it said "Can't find MS Edge, check your connection". While this is consistent with what you say, it would mean that the connection was lost just after I downloade Zoom and tried to install it 3 times and returned just when I stopped installing. Highly unlikely.
Besides, it should be looking for the default browser, not MS Edge.
Since I tried to install it immediately after I downloaded it, if there was no Net it happened just after downoaded it, which while possible in theory, I doubt. And I tried to install it three times and got the same message: Cannot find MS Edge
Net I tried to install it three times and each time it gave the same error.

Per my reply, the initial reply does not address the problem. Without a solution I am unable to install new versions of Zoom and will have to stick with the last one that installs.

Is there any way to access Zoom support?

No, you do not need Microsoft Edge to install Zoom Workplace on Windows 10. Zoom is compatible with various browsers, including Firefox, and does not require Edge for installation.
The error you encountered during installation may be related to a specific dependency or component that Zoom requires, which might be associated with Edge. However, this does not mean that Edge is necessary for Zoom to function properly.
Install Microsoft Edge: Temporarily installing Edge might resolve the installation issue. You can download it from the official Microsoft website .
Ensure Windows is Up to Date: Make sure your Windows 10 operating system is fully updated, as missing system updates can cause compatibility issues.
Reinstall Zoom: After installing Edge and updating Windows, try reinstalling Zoom Workplace. If the installation completes successfully, you can uninstall Edge if you prefer not to use it.
Check for Dependencies: Some Zoom features might rely on components associated with Edge. Ensure that all necessary dependencies are installed and up to date.
If you continue to experience issues, please provide more details about the error message or any other symptoms, and I can assist you further.

Please re-read my previous reply: I explicitly am staying away from Edge. It's not even clear that Edge will install on my Win10 version. Not to mention that I am not going thru all that hassle just to install Zoom. It looks like I will have to stick to the previous version of Zoom that installed.

@fp3229 Could you post the error screenshot of Zoom here? The installer doesn't touch anything network related. Maybe there's an error in the login dialog.

I don't want to repeat the process of installing and reinstalling the old just to get the exact text of the error. It said: can't find MS Edge, check your Internet connection. It looks as if the install looks for Edge, instead of the default browser, does not find it and concludes there is no connection.
