Issue with third party calendars

Hi,

when I create in Zoom calendar invitation with Zoom Workplace, it is displayed in my Zoom Calendar at the right timing (let's say, 10am).

In my Outlook and Mac Calendar, the same for all the participants of the meeting, the invitation appears one hour ahead (e.g., 9am).

Any idea?

Stéphane

Hello,

This is a classic time zone mismatch issue between Zoom and the calendar apps.

Why it happens

  1. Zoom stores the meeting time in the time zone set in your Zoom profile.

  2. When the invitation goes to Outlook or Mac Calendar, those apps convert the time to the calendar’s local time zone.

  3. If Zoom’s time zone and the calendar’s time zone don’t match, the meeting appears shifted (e.g., 10:00 AM in Zoom → 9:00 AM in Outlook).

Common causes:

  • Zoom profile is set to a different time zone than your computer or calendar.

  • Outlook / Mac Calendar is set to automatically adjust for daylight saving time differently than Zoom.

How to fix it

Step 1: Check Zoom profile time zone

  1. Go to Zoom Web portal

  2. Look at Time Zone under Personal.

  3. Make sure it matches your current local time zone (the one your Outlook / Mac Calendar uses).

Step 2: Check your calendar time zone

For Outlook (Mac / Windows):

  • Outlook → Preferences → Calendar → Time Zones → ensure it matches Zoom.

For Mac Calendar:

  • System Preferences → Date & Time → Time Zone → ensure “Set time zone automatically” is on, or manually set it to match Zoom.

Step 3: When scheduling in Zoom

  • When you create a meeting, double-check the time zone in the meeting settings (it’s right below the date/time fields).

  • Choose your correct local time zone so the invite translates correctly to participants’ calendars.
