How to set the recorded filename same as the folder name?

Currently, Zoom saves local recordings with folder names that tell us what the meeting name was and what date and time the recording was done. But these settings are not translated into file names. The file names seem more random. We have to move the recording around, e.g., upload it to Vimeo to be shared in other places, so we have to manually name the files by copying and pasting the folder name into the filename. This wastes time and creates the possibility of user error. Is there a way to get to set proper filenames using the meeting names and times? Shouldn't Zoom be doing this by default?

    I also need the file name to reflect the date/time of the recording, not be a “random” number. From a limited search, it seems the cloud recordings are done this way; so why not the locally recorded videos and audio?

    Hello ​@St Laurence,

    Zoom currently does not provide a built-in option to automatically name local recording files using the meeting name and date/time. By default, Zoom creates a folder for each recording with the meeting name, date, and time, but the files inside (such as zoom_0.mp4, audio_only.m4a, etc.) use generic names.

    There is no setting in Zoom to change this behavior or to automatically apply the meeting name and date/time to the actual file names. You would need to manually rename the files if you want them to match the folder name or include meeting details.

    This is a common request, but as of now, Zoom does not offer a way to customize local recording file names automatically. If this feature is important to your workflow, you can submit feedback to Zoom through the Zoom Feedback form: https://zoom.us/feed.
