 I am facing the same issue. I was told to use the help function and use "Give Feedback" to the engineers.
Temporary measure I found: Use web/browser version of Zoom instead of the app.

Yes in the past we can just see everyones messages and it's directly sent to us. But now this stupid private room function ruin it all. Now we have to click the room every time someone sent a message. Whoever changed it have no idea how Zoom classes work.

i have the same problem with you.  i am a teacher. there are a lot of students in my class. I want to check all answers in a short time.   it doesn’t work.  It is my big problem.

I agree it is an absolute nightmare. We had 64 delegates on a course yesterday and trying to click on each individual answer is impossible!!
