How to change virtual background in mobile

Virtual Backgrounds might not be available on your mobile device. Virtual Backgrounds are requesting more processing power and because of that, Zoom will assess if your device is able to support it or not. If it doesn't meet the requirements, the option won't be shown.

Yikes, ok thanks! That's very helpful to know because this information isn't in any of the support docs that I have found.
