How to STOP notification that host "is talking" when host has hidden self view

During a recent upgrade, I noticed that the notification "James is talking" (I am james) pops up in every zoom meeting when I "hide self view" and then begin to talk during the meeting.  This is INCREDIBLY distracting and makes me SELF-CONSCIOUS  and takes me out of the meeting.  In past versions of zoom (Two updates ago), this only used to show up when OTHER non-video participants spoke, but NOT the host.  This is AS DISTRACTING as having the green square highlighted on me while speaking, which is intolerable.  Is there a setting to make this go away?

I am not aware of a way to turn this notification off. Mostly I find it useful in a large meeting when somebody is speaking but they are located on page 2 or beyond in my gallery. Then I at least know who is speaking. But, I understand your frustration with it popping-up on your screen when it is you speaking.

You might consider submitting it as a feature request. Here's a link to that page...

In Zoom version 5.12.6, this problem did not exist.  Hopefully the developers might consider addressing this issue.  It just does not make sense to show that the host is talking while they are talking (if they have hidden self view); this truly is akin to having the green square on you while speaking, which most individuals don't like.  Besides an actor on stage or someone giving a presentation, who wants to be spotlighted during casual conversation?  I think it's just a recipe for more social anxiety and distraction.

I have the same problem and it is driving me

crazy! I would love a solution, and I submitted a request for an improvement to Zoom.

1000% this is so obnoxious. I just noticed this with the most recent update. I always have my self-view hidden in every meeting. It is terribly distracting and unnecessary to look at myself while in a meeting and now having this window pop up every time I'm speaking is ridiculous.

Please developers turn this off.  Can't agree more with the posts here that this is super annoying.  I've got self view hidden for a reason and I know when I'm talking.  This keeps distracting me from the zoom call I'm on and doesn't add any value as a new feature.  Please either make this an option to turn on/off or completely remove it.

Came here to agree - this is not a useful feature and is very distracting.

To stop notifications that the host "is talking" when the host has hidden their self-view, you will need to adjust your notification settings within  the video conferencing application you are using. If these options are not available or don't address your specific issue, consider checking the support resources or help guides for the particular platform you are using.

I'm sorry that this is a frustrating feature to you.  It's important to consider that some features, while annoying to you, are extremeley helpful and essential to others.  I'm a court reporter, so highlighting the box of someone who's talking is helpful.  More helpful is that "talking" box when a nonvideo participants is talking, because I have to know which speaker is making an objection, and it's very difficult when I have no "talking" box or green box.  It would be nice if Zoom made is simpler to customize those features so users can choose what works best for them.  It was also helpful in the past trouble-shooting which speaker feedback was coming from because their "talking" box would pop up, and we could politely ask them to mute.

The reason the OP posted and the reason I found it is because Zoom will show "Name is talking" when it is **US** talking not someone else.  Saying "camryn1259 is talking" is so distracting while I am talking.

As a participant and not the host, I hide my self-view, which eliminates the experience of being me, and having the distraction of a double me. Now I am seeing "xx is talking" when I talk, breath, or cough.  Totally distracting.  We should have the option of individual settings,  especially when we are in a breakout room (dyad, or triad).  Zoom gives you no choice but to upgrade and then find features you don't want or need.

Just adding my voice to the chorus. Being alerted that I am talking, when I am talking, is incredibly distracting and wholly unnecessary. Please, Zoomlords, fix this! Why did you add this "feature"?

We have the same problem, we hold events where someone speaks remotely and the message appears that the person is speaking... this covers part of the projected presentation and is very annoying, we already know who is speaking, it could just appear once and that's it or something like that but it is quite annoying having to adapt the presentations to this problem...
