So I just had this issue after a phone update and found the problem to be a permission issue. Checking the Zoom app permissions on my Pixel 6, it revealed that the "Nearby devices permission" were set to "Don't allow", switched it to "Allow" and Zoom worked with my headset again. The fun thing is that it works with everything else, so I guess zoom is doing something special that requires extra permissions, but that they don't check that the app actually have that permission - I would expect 99% of users of the android app would be using a BT device, so if that permission isn't there, the app should give out a warning about it and not waste so many peoples time...
update: this didn't fix it for me. 😞 on top of that, when i deleted the data option in storage, like i normally had to do in order to get it to work, it toggles this option back off everytime. ARGHHHH
I'm having same problem. Zoom does not give an option to play audio to my bluetooth headphones. The speaker icon only toggles between mute and not muted. But, I can use the bluetooth headphones with both Whatsapp voice calling and entertainment apps such as Youtube and Netflix. I'm thinking the issue stems from these being headphones only, and not a full headset with both mic and headphones. Zoom doesn't seem to like the idea of using the phone's mic while using the bluetooth speaker/headphone
To connect your Bluetooth speaker to the Zoom desktop client, follow these steps:
1. Open the Zoom desktop client. 2. Go to Settings. 3. Navigate to the Audio section. 4. Check that your Bluetooth speaker is available and connected under both Microphone and Speaker output settings. 5. Ensure that the Bluetooth speaker remains connected during your meetings for seamless audio output.
