How do I stop this auto-centering command?

I have a newer PC laptop (HP ZBook Firefly 16-inch, 64bit, Windows 11).  When I have a Zoom meeting, and I move my head a few inches to the left or right, the camera auto-adjusts and puts my face in the center of the screen again, and it zooms way in on my head and shoulders.  It's really annoying.  How do I stop this?  Is there a toggle command somewhere that I need to turn off?   I have read on Google about something called "Center Stage".  However, I think that is only for Apple products; but, I still couldn't find that language anywhere in the Zoom app, or anything resembling my problem.

I'd love some help on this.  Thanks.

hi @Striv37,

according to hp, your hp laptop includes "Collaborate effectively wherever you go with ZBook Firefly. The AI enhanced auto-framing 5MP camera,13 now with an 88-degree field of view, and Wi-Fi 6E,14 4G LTE15, or 5G16 options let you seamlessly connect from almost anywhere."

maybe the hp laptop user manual or hp support can identify setting to turn off auto-framing.

Did my response answer your question? If so, please don't forget to mark the reply as an accepted solution.

I had the same issue and could solve it following this guidance I found in Google. Hope this helps!

To disable Zoom's "Center Stage" feature that automatically centers the camera on your face, you need to access the meeting controls within a Zoom call and turn off the "Center Stage" option. This feature, while useful for some, can be distracting if you move around a lot during a call.

Here's how to disable it:
On a Desktop:
  1. Start or join a Zoom meeting or webinar.

  2. Locate the green camera iconin the menu bar at the top of your screen according to the Zoom Community.

  3. Click on the green camera icon .

  4. Find the "Center Stage" optionin the menu that appears.

  5. Toggle the "Center Stage" setting off .

On a Mobile Device (iOS):
  1. Start or join a Zoom meeting or webinar.
  2. Tap the screento bring up meeting controls.
  3. In the top-left corner, tap "Turn Off Center Stage" .

Alternatively, you can disable Center Stage before the meeting starts by going to Zoom Settings and turning it off there
