Hello,
How can I disable the notification "Not hearing anything? Turn up volume"?
This notification started appearing after I updated Zoom for Windows to version 5.16.10 and appears when the computer's volume is equal to or less than 10%.
I couldn't find the option to disable this alert in the Accessibility menu.

hi @once
This option can not be disabled at present.
It was added recently because of low volume problems of users.

all the best

I truly hate this notification. I am fully aware that I turned my sound down. Why? Because there was a person I truly did not want to hear. Are you my mother now? Reminding me my computer sound is still down? What the heck were you thinking? WE HATE IT. We are not dumb. We know sound is lowered and, guess what we will do if we want to hear it? We will turn it up! No notification needed.

My headphones are plenty loud at 4%.  The threshold should be adjustable.

This is absolutely wild that this topic was marked as "solved" as it very much has not been solved. I've joined the choir of voices who have sent feedback through the app and hope this bug will finally get some attention.

The issue has been discussed many times, and we have had conversations with engineering. It is up to them whether they change this feature. They put it in because of the problems with people turning down the volume and never then hearing anything, so I would not expect this feature to change.

I understand this is turned on by default, but allowing users to disable it would make most sense. Engineering should understand this too.

@ExpertswhoJohn please formally acknowledge nobody is requesting to outright disable the feature, only to introduce a configurable setting to disable this notification.

The discussion thread has collected a substantial amount of clear objective feedback for Zoom that this should be a configurable setting to disable the notification. It is desired and warranted.

@Tim0thy_Tayl0r ,

1. I am not a zoom employee, let alone part of the engineering team, so I dont know if they will adress this, till I see upcoming release notes

2. I remember the problems when people turned down their audio and could not hear. it was far more substantial than this

3. I have no influence on whether or not the team addresses it.

@ExpertswhoJohnif you are not a zoom employee, and no influence, what is the purpose of your answers, then ?

And the sole fact that this thread exists for almost TWO YEARS and still no options, and you have the audacity to wait for "the upcoming release notes".

In the meantime, the software get a big UI revamp to make things worse than before, adding notifications everywhere.

Is Zoom aware of the ensh*ttification they do ?

I don't know either. Please let me know.

I accidentaly clicked that and blew out my ears. Create a **** option to never display it again. It's not hard. It will literally take just a few hours to implement this basic stuff.

This notification should be optional. I accidentally misclicked when closing it and Zoom turned up my volume from 3% to 100%. I was in a noisy environment and had earphones in my ears on top of which I had noise-cancelling headphones. The sudden ultra-high volume noise startled me and I couldn't take off my headphones for a few seconds. It has been 2 days and I have ringing in my ears. Will Zoom pay for my doctor fees?

Bump. This has not been solved yet. Please add the option to remove this notification permanently. I still have tinnitus in one of my ears because of this "feature".

This is the only app I have ever used that assumes I don't know how to control the volume on my device.

Accidentally clicking the button increases the volume an absurd amount.

Give us the option to disable this feature.
