Hearing Others in Breakout Rooms

Hello,

During our breakout rooms, the audio is leaking from one breakout into another breakout. Each individual is remote and not located in the same physical space. The audio is slightly decreased but is overtaking the breakout rooms discussions. Is anyone else having this issue or heard of something like this?

We had a participant that was also in Microsoft Teams meeting behind Zoom. So the audio was carrying from Teams.

Found problem. It was participant error & not Zoom.

Audio should not leak between breakout rooms in Zoom, as each room is designed to be fully isolated. If participants are remote and not sharing a physical space, this issue is unusual. Here are also a few things to check and try:

Confirm Participants’ Devices: Make sure no one is logged into multiple devices or breakout rooms at the same time, as this could cause unintended audio overlap.
Check for Open Microphones: Ask participants if they have any other Zoom meetings or audio sources open on their computers that could be causing cross-talk.
Update Zoom: Ensure all participants are using the latest version of the Zoom client, as bugs or outdated software can sometimes cause unexpected behavior.
Test with a New Meeting: Try creating a new meeting with breakout rooms to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if it’s a one-time glitch.
Restart Devices: Have participants restart their computers and rejoin the meeting.

What happened here because that just happened for us too - it affected at least 1 breakout room where they were hearing the audio from the host's discussion in their breakout room, making it challenging to have their own discussions.
