On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

I am trying to log into my desktop app. i do not remember my password. i hit forgot password. it takes me to a "google or apple" page. i click either of them (tried both) and it just logs me in onto the website automatically. no option to actually reset my password ever. still don't know my password. still cant get into desktop app.

It sounds like your Zoom account is using Google or Apple login (SSO - Single Sign-On). That means:
You don’t actually have a separate Zoom password.
Instead, Zoom uses your Google or Apple credentials to log you in — that's why it keeps redirecting you to log in via those platforms.
That’s also why there’s no password reset — because Zoom doesn’t manage your password directly.
Please contact your account administrator to help you with your log in.
