HDR on Windows causes screen share to be washed out

If I enable HDR in Windows 10 (now on Windows 11), when I share my screen the view is washed out for recipients.
Simple issue, but it sucks not to be able to use HDR. I don't feel like switching all the time, and I screen share every day for work. Is this is a known issue?

On May 5th, 2024, the persistent issue persists. My clientele consistently voices their dissatisfaction with the washed-out "brightness" effect, which distorts colors and impedes their comprehension during screen shares. Given that I specialize in custom home design, precise visualization of colors and textures is paramount to my profession. Presently, my makeshift solution involves capturing the desktop screen and sharing it via chat for download, serving as tangible evidence of the faulty screen sharing functionality. I implore you to address and rectify this issue promptly, as it significantly hampers my ability to conduct business effectively.

Sorry to resurrect the dead but I'm getting the same issue with this and any screen share software, even Teams. I'm beginning to believe this is a windows issue rather than an issue with the software. Maybe an API issue?

Bringing this back up. Seems like an issue from 3 years ago that would WIDELY affect users should have Zoom looking at it and fixed by now... Who runs the product team? This experience is terrible.

Having this issue in September 2025.  Still not resolved after 4 years...

    That's still an issue.

    Any news?
