Feedback to Zoom for FULL HD Videos on the PRO

hi

I am currently a "PRO" user since we have a small team and happy since many months with the paid plan.

I would like to use the Full HD features of my high-spec PC from your Business plan HOWEVER, that plan requires 10x seats which we don't really need as we have a small team so it would be a waste of €uros.

Though i'd like to test/use the FULL HD features.

I want to make a request to enable FULL HD 1920x 1080 on PRO accounts as well without having to upgrade 10x seats for the Business plan. Maybe for a small price increase? Why don't you give the option "normal" 1280 and "full" 1920 for i don't know 5€ more or something?

We don't really need ALL the functionalities of the Business plan for now.

I've already expressed my wish of using FULL HD a few times and i find it limiting being locked at 1280x720 resolution.

I am a big fan of Zoom and would love to level up to the max my PC can do. Feels like driving a Ferrari on a country road.

thanks,

Gabrio

Hello,

Currently, I am not aware of anything in the works to provide Full HD access for accounts that are not Business+ accounts. I do believe that your request is good, and the next steps would be to submit a feature enhancement.

Anyone with a Zoom account can submit a Feature Request to our Product Team, please visit Sending feedback to Zoom Please follow us at http://blog.zoom.us and our release notes https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/sections/201214205-Release-Notes for new product and feature announcements.

If you are a user on a Premier/Premier+ account, you should have access to submit Feature Requests on the community page here: https://community.zoom.com/t5/Zoom-Feature-Requests/idb-p/ZoomFeatureRequests

If you are on an account that has a Customer Success Manager (CSM) then have your Zoom company admin reach out to your Zoom CSM who can submit a Feature Request on your behalf.

So, depending on your account there are a few ways to submit Feature Requests to Zoom to improve and enhance our product.

I hope this helps and please make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.

Thank you,

Jake

hey there

Cheers for reply, yeah of course is a legit question 🙂 Why do i need 10x licenses just to use Full HD? As in a small business shouldn't be in High Definition? 😅

Anyway, i've submitted my feedback via the Zoom app itself, not sure it gets to the right place and dropped a note on Twitter as well.

I cannot access https://community.zoom.com/t5/Zoom-Feature-Requests/idb-p/ZoomFeatureRequests -> Access Denied and i don't have a "Customer Success Manager (CSM)" either. Any chance you can drop in a request for me if you have elevated access?

I only have a "Pro" account.

Thanks,

Good news, as of October 20th, it's now possible for Zoom Pro customers who have a Zoom Events Platform subscription to get 1080p access!

A key pain point we’ve heard from creators using Zoom in remote contribution workflows is our resolution policy, which today enables 720p access to Pro customers and 1080p access to business customers who pay for 10 license. Both enablement pathways require a support ticket to be sent to Zoom.

Starting the week of October 20th, customers who add any Zoom Events Platform subscription to their Zoom Pro plan (or higher) will be unlocked for 1080p access in their meetings and webinars, even if those calls are hosted outside of the Zoom Events ticketing platform. In other words, an individual producer who uses Zoom Meetings to bring in remote guests can add a Zoom Events subscription (either Zoom Sessions or the full Zoom Events subscription) to their account, and immediately get 1080p access available to enable instantly without a support request. This policy will also retroactively apply to existing Zoom Events Platform subscription holders, but may take some time to apply to all accounts.

The attendee ticketing capacity purchased does not impact this activation pathway, and again, the 1080p access would be available outside of the ZE platform as well (on your base meetings license that doesn’t count to any attendee limit). Note that non-subscription ZE platform licenses (such as OTP or PPA) are not included in this activation pathway.

Don’t forget that the Liminal Apps including ZoomISO and Tiles can also be activated via the Zoom Events platform as well.

In summary, we’re significantly reducing the cost of 1080p access, requiring only a single paid account, and removing the support ticket process for this new enablement pathway.

hi there,

I just checked "Zoom Events Platform subscription" that that's 115 euro a month (smallest option) or 1,380 euro a year. Are you guys crazy?

I mean +115 euro a month "just" for having HD is not cool. If one is using all the other features perhaps. But for myself as an individual user who JUST wanted the Full HD 1920 is just too much.

I don't host large meetings, it could happen when i teach something but never THAT large. So i would be effectively wasting money. In 2025, one cannot do that, we have to account for every single business expense to be worthwhile. Other businesses are the same. Throwing away money is no more a thing.

Thanks for trying but please try harder, with something where we get ONLY a FULL HD extra bolt on- i don't care everything else.

thank you

Gabrio

100% agree, yes!

Hey, @rockseo@nunopires, and others.

I’m not a Zoom employee, but I do understand the need for a substantial price to enable HD. I’m a small (solo!) business with 2 paid Workplace Pro licenses and 4 Zoom Events licenses which I use to produce cost-effective events for clients (and occasionally myself). Here’s my opinion, based on an in-depth outsider's view of Zoom.

If you could enable HD reception just for video received by your login, I’d say a small fee would be reasonable. But when you enable HD on your account, you’re actually enabling it for every attendee at all of your meetings and webinars. 1080 bandwidth is roughly double the bandwidth of 720. For a meeting of 50 people, you’re requesting double the bandwidth for 50 attendees.  More attendees, way more bandwidth.

What if most of your meetings are only 2-3 people? Zoom is unlikely to create a 1080 feature that only works for small numbers. They might argue that most small sessions really don’t need 1080 for on-camera video; they likely do need it for Screen Sharing in order to see detail in presentations and streamed video, but Zoom already transmits all Screen Sharing content at the native resolution of the source! Fire up that 2K monitor and watch your attendees start to complain about lag.

I’m fine with you wanting and asking for low-priced access to 1080 – but I don’t think you’re going to get it.
