hi
I am currently a "PRO" user since we have a small team and happy since many months with the paid plan.
I would like to use the Full HD features of my high-spec PC from your Business plan HOWEVER, that plan requires 10x seats which we don't really need as we have a small team so it would be a waste of ā¬uros.
Though i'd like to test/use the FULL HD features.
I want to make a request to enable FULL HD 1920x 1080 on PRO accounts as well without having to upgrade 10x seats for the Business plan. Maybe for a small price increase? Why don't you give the option "normal" 1280 and "full" 1920 for i don't know 5ā¬ more or something?
We don't really need ALL the functionalities of the Business plan for now.
I've already expressed my wish of using FULL HD a few times and i find it limiting being locked at 1280x720 resolution.
I am a big fan of Zoom and would love to level up to the max my PC can do. Feels like driving a Ferrari on a country road.
thanks,
Gabrio

Hello,
Currently, I am not aware of anything in the works to provide Full HD access for accounts that are not Business+ accounts. I do believe that your request is good, and the next steps would be to submit a feature enhancement.
Anyone with a Zoom account can submit a Feature Request to our Product Team, please visit Sending feedback to Zoom Please follow us at http://blog.zoom.us and our release notes https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/sections/201214205-Release-Notes for new product and feature announcements.
If you are a user on a Premier/Premier+ account, you should have access to submit Feature Requests on the community page here: https://community.zoom.com/t5/Zoom-Feature-Requests/idb-p/ZoomFeatureRequests
If you are on an account that has a Customer Success Manager (CSM) then have your Zoom company admin reach out to your Zoom CSM who can submit a Feature Request on your behalf.
So, depending on your account there are a few ways to submit Feature Requests to Zoom to improve and enhance our product.
I hope this helps and please make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.
Thank you,
Jake

hey there
Cheers for reply, yeah of course is a legit question š Why do i need 10x licenses just to use Full HD? As in a small business shouldn't be in High Definition? š
Anyway, i've submitted my feedback via the Zoom app itself, not sure it gets to the right place and dropped a note on Twitter as well.
I cannot access https://community.zoom.com/t5/Zoom-Feature-Requests/idb-p/ZoomFeatureRequests -> Access Denied and i don't have a "Customer Success Manager (CSM)" either. Any chance you can drop in a request for me if you have elevated access?
I only have a "Pro" account.
Thanks,
Gabrio

Talking about Zoom Resolution
Andy Carluccio is the Head of Client Innovation at Zoom. I found his explanation disheartening, especially considering all the effort needed just to achieve simple, proper Full HD video quality.
ā2024-10-30 12:21 AM - edited ā2024-10-30 12:22 AM
It shouldn't be rocket science to increase from 1280x720 to 1920x1080 - it will just use more bandwidth at the client's side and THEY will have to process more bw throughout the network.
Still, it doesn't in my opinion justify the current price requirement of 10x licenses (smallest option possible to get Full HD) for the Business plan JUST to get Full HD. For me, as a small business owner, that's absurd.
As mentioned, i'd be happy to pay a tad more in my PRO plan just to get the FULL HD as a bolt-on. I don't need 300 participants, etc etc
Thanks for sharing
ciao,
Gabrio

Hi @nunopires, if you don't mind sharing what part of the announcement you have found disheartening since we've dramatically reduced the cost of 1080p access by expanding it to Zoom Pro customers with a Zoom Events Platform subscription. I'm not sure what effort you are referring to is and would like to understand better.

Andy, thank you for joining the conversation. Some users want access to 1080p quality without needing a subscription to the Zoom Events platform, as it's overly complicated for their needs. Since this is a paid platform, my thought is that in 2024, 1080p should be the standard. I have 1080p with Google; that being said, I still prefer to use Zoom

Thank you, Gabrio, for the opportunity to discuss this. It's always helpful when folks like yourself take the time to explain how we can improve your experience. It would be helpful for me to understand if your concern is complexity or cost.
From a complexity perspective, all the customer needs to do is purchase the license, and they don't need to actually interact with Zoom Events as a product at all should they just wish to conduct their regularly-organized Zoom Meetings in 1080p. However it certainly will be valuable to explore Zoom Events should they wish to.
If it's cost, I would offer that multi-party 1080p video at scale is still a complex infrastructure task even in 2024, and that our approach offers unique capabilities (like what we offer with ZoomISO's high bandwidth outputs) that drive value. The feedback on pricing is welcome nonetheless and I'm sure we want to offer the best value possible for all our customers.

Thank you. I will do that

Good news, as of October 20th, it's now possible for Zoom Pro customers who have a Zoom Events Platform subscription to get 1080p access!
A key pain point weāve heard from creators using Zoom in remote contribution workflows is our resolution policy, which today enables 720p access to Pro customers and 1080p access to business customers who pay for 10 license. Both enablement pathways require a support ticket to be sent to Zoom.
Starting the week of October 20th, customers who add any Zoom Events Platform subscription to their Zoom Pro plan (or higher) will be unlocked for 1080p access in their meetings and webinars, even if those calls are hosted outside of the Zoom Events ticketing platform. In other words, an individual producer who uses Zoom Meetings to bring in remote guests can add a Zoom Events subscription (either Zoom Sessions or the full Zoom Events subscription) to their account, and immediately get 1080p access available to enable instantly without a support request. This policy will also retroactively apply to existing Zoom Events Platform subscription holders, but may take some time to apply to all accounts.
The attendee ticketing capacity purchased does not impact this activation pathway, and again, the 1080p access would be available outside of the ZE platform as well (on your base meetings license that doesnāt count to any attendee limit). Note that non-subscription ZE platform licenses (such as OTP or PPA) are not included in this activation pathway.
Donāt forget that the Liminal Apps including ZoomISO and Tiles can also be activated via the Zoom Events platform as well.
In summary, weāre significantly reducing the cost of 1080p access, requiring only a single paid account, and removing the support ticket process for this new enablement pathway.
