Feature Request: Auto-Save Transcript with Configurable Storage Path Option

Hello Zoom Team,

I’d like to request a much-needed enhancement to Zoom’s transcript feature that would significantly improve usability and avoid lost content—especially for co-hosts and participants who rely on transcripts for meeting documentation, note-taking, or compliance.

Feature Request:

Please add a Zoom setting or transcript app enhancement that enables auto-saving of the meeting transcript to a user-defined file path (e.g., local drive, OneDrive, or network folder).

This would eliminate the need to manually click “Save Transcript” at the end of every meeting.

Why this matters:

  1. Transcripts are often lost when another host ends the meeting before I have a chance to hit "Save."

  2. Sometimes the transcript panel gets hidden or closed, and I simply forget to reopen it to save before leaving the meeting.

  3. In multi-host meetings or high-stress environments, it’s easy to miss the manual save step.

  4. Having a simple option like:
    Auto-save transcript to: [file path]
would solve this entirely and align with the behavior of auto-recording.

Suggested Implementation:

  • Checkbox setting: “Auto-save transcript at end of meeting”

  • Optional storage path: Select default folder for saved transcripts (similar to the setting for auto-recording storage).

  • Enable for hosts, co-hosts, and even participants (when allowed).

Pretty Please with All the Cherries on Top... I beg you.

Welcome to the Zoom Community, @swhitfield.

While I agree that options to save the transcript would be a nice addition, there is a work-around: You can have your transcript saved to the Zoom Cloud as a VTT file.  I use this to quickly locate what time during a meeting a specific topic was mentioned.

Go to Settings -> Recording -> General and set this:

You'll get a text file with something like this:

I agree. This feature is needed. The above workaround does not solve the issue for automatic saving of the transcription.
