Ear buds not working

When I plug my earbuds into my computer, they don't work yet I know they work if watching a video on my laptop.  Suggestions?

    Did you change on the Audio Menu which speaker/microphone to use?

    Where is the audio menu? Is it something I change in settings before a meeting or after I start the meeting?

    I am not finding an audio menu on my MacBook air laptop

    The up arrow next to the microphone button should allow you to select the earbuds if they are recognized by the computer for both microphone and speaker.

     

    If you need to adjust levels, you can select Audio Settings in the screenshot above.

    thank you. The screenshot is very helpful. I don't know where the audio settings are, but I can probably find them.
