Hello,
I start my meeting via my laptop (this is the host that records the meeting), and then I log also via my Samsung phone and keep my camera only on my phone so everybody can see only my phone camera but I see that I
don't get with the phone fullscreen? I test it with friends and when they have Iphon it is fullscreen but on Samsung, it is not.
Do you know how can I make my Samsung show fullscreen?
Thanks' Tsafi

Hi @tsafi , welcome to the Zoom Community!

I apologize that you have not yet received a reply from the Community, but I would love to assist in any way possible!

Please confirm that your phone can support HD video- and hence fullscreen, by clicking on Settings > Meeting. HD video should appear under Video. Your phone can support full screen if you have this HD video option 🙂. If you have this option on your Zoom mobile app, please enable it.

Hello!

In order to select HD video you will need to meet the following requirements for HD video for meetings:

Standard HD (720p)
  • Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
  • Full-screen meeting window on Zoom desktop app
  • Zoom desktop app for Windows, macOS, or Linux: Global minimum version or higher
  • Zoom mobile app for Android or iOS: Global minimum version or higher
Full HD (1080p)
  • Pro (with Zoom Events or Zoom Sessions license), Business, Education, or Enterprise account
  • Setting must be enabled by Zoom Support
  • i7 Quad Core (physical core) CPU or higher
  • Zoom desktop app for Windows or macOS: Global minimum version or higher

If you meet these requirements you can change the HD settings by following the steps outlined under 'Android' in this article: Changing settings in the Zoom desktop/mobile app

I hope this helps!

Here are some specific steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Switch to Speaker View

  • On the Samsung Phone: Make sure you're using Speaker View during the meeting. To do this:

    • During the meeting, tap the “Gallery View” in the top right corner of the Zoom screen. It should change to "Speaker View", which will prioritize your video feed if you're speaking or focused.

2. Ensure You’re Using the Zoom App

  • If you're using a browser to join Zoom, switch to the Zoom mobile app instead. Browsers sometimes don't give the best video experience, especially when it comes to full-screen mode.

3. Enable Fullscreen Mode on Zoom

  • During the meeting, tap your video or your thumbnail image, and you should see an option to “Pin” your video. Pinning your video forces it to remain in fullscreen for others. If you haven't tried this, give it a shot.

4. Rotate Your Phone to Landscape Mode

  • Zoom will typically show videos in a larger view if your phone is in landscape (horizontal) mode.

    • Turn your phone sideways during the meeting to see if it changes the view.

5. Check Zoom Settings for Video Layout

  • Within Zoom Settings:

    1. Open the Zoom app and go to Settings.

    2. Scroll down and tap Meeting.

    3. Make sure "Always Show Participant Name" is disabled. This can sometimes affect how the video displays.

    4. Also, ensure that "Touch up my appearance" and any similar settings are turned off, as they can sometimes distort video size.

6. Update Zoom

  • Ensure your Zoom app is updated to the latest version. Sometimes bugs with fullscreen video are fixed in newer versions of the app. You can check for updates in the Google Play Store.

7. Test with Other Devices

  • Sometimes, the issue could be on the viewer’s side. Ask your friends to try adjusting their Zoom settings or app view (Gallery vs Speaker) to ensure it's not an issue with their device.

8. Zoom-Specific Issue on Samsung

  • If Zoom specifically isn’t showing your video in fullscreen on Samsung devices, it could be related to a device-specific issue or setting. Try clearing the Zoom app cache from your phone's settings (Settings → Apps → Zoom → Storage → Clear Cache) and restart the app.
