Sometimes, I do not have internet service. For instance, if I am on an airplane without wi-fi. However, the Zoom pop up "unable to establish secure connection" constantly appears, interfering with whatever I am doing on the computer. How can I disable this pop up when I have no internet service?

Hi,
If you go into the Zoom app settings and look under General....Uncheck "Start Zoom when I start Windows" and "Silently start Zoom when Windows starts."
This should stop Zoom from auto-starting every time you boot up your computer.
While it might not eliminate all the pop-ups, it definitely cuts down on them.

Unfortunately, those were the settings I already had. Also, if I had been on a Zoom call since I last rebooted the computer, Zoom would be running anyway. I suspect there is a more direct solution to stopping these pop-ups. but maybe not . . .

The only workaround I have found is right-clicking the Zoom icon in the app drawer System Tray (bottom right corner of desktop in Windows) and selecting Exit. Or you can right-click the app itself at the bottom and select "Quit Zoom Workplace". Just try to remember to start it back up later.

I realized i was using the wrong term. Its a Windows thing and called the System Tray. The bottom right corner sometimes shows certain applications that are running in the background, like Teams and Outlook and Zoom. You can usually right-click and see some options including fully exiting the application (not just minimizing to run in the background). I will edit my message to make it more clear.

Got it -- I'll give that a try -- there sure should be a setting to fix this - very annoying,especially in flights when I don't buy Wi-Fi.
